Dinged Or Dented Wheels? The Fix Is In.

Parallel parking, while often necessary in the city, is a skill that atrophies unless used with great frequency.  The result?  Dinged wheels that are ugly and annoying.  Coupled with reduced trade-in value or leased turn in charges due to wheel damage and you’ve got reason enough to seek out a solution to the problem. Fortunately, there is a fix.  In fact, it’s called The Wheel Fix and they’re the focus of this month’s Local Innovations column.

I first learned about The Wheel Fix, located at 55 Pond St in Waltham, from one of our MetroWest Living readers.  I reached out to Nick Cummings, one of the owners, and requested a backstage tour of the facility to learn about the process of resurfacing wheels rather than replacing them.  Nick was delighted to show me around and, honestly, there is quite a bit of unique and specialized equipment within the facility and the team does an absolutely amazing job.  From stripping wheels down to bare metal to painting / powder coating, everything is done in house to perfection.

I learned that repairing dinged wheels is not just about aesthetics.  Because wheels rotate at such high velocity, there’s a fair amount of science associated with properly repairing structurally damaged wheels.  What I really didn’t think about was the fact that leaving dinged wheels unaddressed is actually a safety hazard.  This is due to the imbalance the imperfection in the wheel creates and the speed at which that wheel spins.  Scary!

You need not have damaged wheels to pursue the services of Wheel Fix.  Some of their best customers are those in search of a distinctive set of custom, one of a kind wheels.  The design choices are endless and the finished product is stunning.  The wheel Fix team has decades of experience and it shows in the end result.

Take a look at your wheels and, if you see imperfections in the wheel’s surface or simply want to enhance the look of your ride, make an appointment to see the experts at The Wheel Fix in Waltham.  They’ll have you back up and rolling in style in no time.
